Ceremonies

A CEREMONY IS BOTH A RITUAL AND A MESSAGE THAT EXPLAINS THE PURPOSE AND THE MEANING OF THE CEREMONY, AND IT IS DEEMED WORTHY OF RECOGNITION AND REMEMBRANCE.

Ensure that you choose a full time professional marriage celebrant. Since retiring from my full time employment of with Qantas I am able to devote myself to each ceremony I create, and each one is tailored to the individual needs of my couple, which guarantees total individuality.

Beside the traditional wedding ceremonies, there are other ceremonies for your consideration. Tea Ceremonies, Candle Ceremonies, Exchanging of Roses, Flower ceremonies. Hand fasting, Lover's Knot Ceremony, Balloon, Butterfly and Sharing of Wine ceremonies, Ring Warming & inclusions for Parents, Poems, Readings by Friends, also children from previous relationships.

We have discussions about music and where it comes in the ceremony etc. and all of the important details that take your ceremony to a very personal level. These inclusions are not compulsory; they simply allow freedom of choice. Each and every detail is discussed to make sure the Ceremony is perfect on the day.

I am more than happy to assist you in every aspect of the day, and should you choose to write your own Vows or the complete Ceremony, I will assist you with the legal requirements.

Weddings

Did you know that wedding vows are more important to a wedding than the photography, cake and catering combined? The little words that marry you give meaning to everything else that happens during that day, and the promises that you make to each other during the ceremony set the parameters for your marriage.

"Marriage " it is a most beautiful word that suggests feelings of romance, nuptials, ceremony, and the celebration of togetherness. The ceremony should be powerful filled with  intimacy, love and creativity.

It is also important to recognise any spiritual and cultural traditions which can be incorporated into the ceremony.

Same Sex Weddings

After many years of political debate, marriage equality was enacted in Australia on 9 December 2017 with the passing of the Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Act 2017. While I have conducted many commitment ceremonies for same-sex couples, on 11 January 2018 I officiated my first marriage under the new legislation, officially declaring the loving couple Mr and Mr. This truly momentous and touching ceremony represented not only the union of two people but a triumph of love, equality, and human rights.

I am a very modern celebrant who will meet you to discuss what you want from the day. I can provide guidance and inspiration to create a special and personalised ceremony that reflects you as a couple.

Renewal of Vows

Many couples want to celebrate and reaffirm their love and commitment by a  Renewal of  vows ceremony . It can be a meaningful, touching,  ceremony for you and your children, family and friends. As a married couple, it is a time to pause and reflect on where you have been and where you are going. It is also a wonderful example to set for your children and grandchildren. Can you imagine a more beautiful scene than children watching their parents joining hands and hearts as they affirm the magnitude of their enduring love? What greater life lesson?

I believe "True love does not wither or die. It just gets better.....

Baby Naming

A baby naming ceremony is an occasion when a new birth is celebrated and a child welcomed into the world.

The ceremony reminds all concerned  of the great responsibility in bringing up a child, and to recognise and appoint all those who will have an important role in the child's development.

As each family is different, the naming ceremony is individually tailored to suit the particular circumstance, and culture.

The naming ceremony provides an opportunity to present the child to family members and friends.
